Editorial ethics

Values

The editorial board is committed to cultivating the following values. Authors and reviewers join them also:

Quality: The first value is professional quality, which we strive to achieve by cultivating a fairly balanced, opinion-free, considerate, and a review process that is open to criticism and self-criticism.

Authorship: Authorship and co-authorship of texts must be clearly stated. We recommend acknowledging non-authorial collaboration with appropriate acknowledgements. Institutional or financial support must be stated. Text generated with the help of artificial intelligence is not considered authorial text. The authorship of the text and ideas are protected throughout the entire editorial process leading to publication.

Originality: All sources used (quotations and paraphrases) must be properly cited—failure to comply with this principle on a larger scale is considered plagiarism and is grounds for exclusion of the text from the review process.

Conflict of interest: Any financial, personal, or professional conflict of interest that could influence the content of the research must be explicitly stated.

Authors of peer-reviews

Review reports are prepared impartially, professionally, and in accordance with general standards of the genre.

Lecturers also undertake to respect the above values.

Specifically, they are expected to contribute to the quality of the texts with factual and specific criticism, which applies in particular to texts by beginning authors, for whom the editorial board strives to create a suitable environment.

Correcting errors

Any participant in the editorial process (editor, author, reviewer, publisher) and any third party concerned by the subject matter (reader, cited author, author or co-author, or originator who believes they have been wrongfully omitted and should have been cited) has the right to submit a request for review of the allegedly unethical behavior of a participant in the editorial process. The request is submitted to the editorial office (thv(◌)thv.cz).

In the case of alleged unethical conduct by a member (members) of the editorial board, the complaint is submitted to the publisher (set(◌)evangelikalni-teologie.cz, more contacts at https://evangelikalni-teologie.cz).

The complaint may be submitted at any time without time limitation.
